Now a week back from our annual conference, Visualize 2012: Innovation Accelerated — and we can all take a nice deep breath! We’d like to give a huge thanks to all how attended and helped make the event such a big success. The energy was infectious among our attendees and there were over 1,000 tweets around Visualize.
Registration opened at 9 AM for pre-conference workshops on October 8th and by that afternoon, 80% of attendees had checked-in! We continued the momentum by opening General Session on October 9th with our own CEO, Emmet, fast-tracking over to Graeme Hackland from the Lotus F1 team, and then challenging our iRise team to do “Mission Possible” live onstage. Bill McInytre, a modern day toy inventor, shared the process of toy design from concept to completion — and discussed how the industry is adjusting to embrace competing “toys” such as mobile phones and tablets. Finally, our audience was moved to tears, literally, when Chad Hahn shared how Square One and StemForce Technologies are training people with development disabilities to perform software testing – the first pilot was done using iRise.
Great content continued on October 10th as the ballroom was full again to hear from Stephen Spears of SAP and our guest executive panel that featured not only seasoned, but entertaining IT executives. iRise’s Josh Wexler and Eli Bozeman shared their 5-9 pm job which involves jump-starting budding entrepreneurs with “Innovation Workshops”. Lastly, we finished off the morning with our product update/roadmap and a series of real simulation demos and visualization case studies.
The afternoon breakout sessions were also packed as we showcased content such as mobile, visualization asset libraries (with ADP), using iRise in an Agile environment, communicating with stakeholders and case studies from Emerson Network Power, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and National Grid with IBM. Go to www.irise.com/visualize2012 to view content, recordings, and videos from the breakouts (with more content coming soon).
Finally, iRise tried something new this year: the UnSession. The room was packed, everyone with soft drinks in hand, popcorn cart in the back — iRise CEO Emmet Keeffe leading off with a gangnam style dance… We engaged in a candid, lively conversation about all things iRise, including product direction and the large iRise Community.
Of course we ended the three day event Wednesday night with an after-hours party that started at the Gold Lounge and ended sometime Thursday morning.
Thanks again to our sponsors and presenters for the rich content. We’re already talking about plans for next year…
