Announcing iRise 8.9
Beating the Mobile App Backlog
iRise 8.9 addresses the dramatic increase in demand for mobile applications, and takes mobile visualization to the next level. You’ll have all the tools you’ll need to build simulations—for mobile devices and most other popular business platforms—at lightning-fast speeds!

Now you can create iPhone pages in iRise Studio, and they automatically simulate inside an emulated iPhone, complete with virtual keyboard and momentum scrolling. The mouse pointer changes to indicate functionality and simulate finger movements. The effect is a rich, realistic mobile experience delivered entirely through the browser.

For the full on-device experience, you can even review your mobile visualizations directly on the iPhone or iPad with iRise Mobile 2.0, our free app available in iTunes.

The iPhone iDoc contains all the essential iPhone style assets you need to build your own custom app visualizations. Many drag-and-drop assets come pre-configured with standard iPhone interactions including tab and navigation bars, alerts, a home screen icon builder, static and dynamic lists, grid views, and much more. Creating buttons and inputs that look like native iPhone controls is easier than ever with new built-in tools. There are also many iBlocs available designed specifically to simulate mobile apps, including the barrel spinner and the on/off switch.

Wouldn’t it be great if in just a few days or weeks from now, your stakeholders could view a working prototype from their own iPhones, tablets and mobile devices? And approve an app that looks just like the real thing, before a single line of code is ever written?

Fusion 2011: New Releases, Intriguing Presentations, and Great Fun

Fusion 2011 saw the announcement of iRise 8.9, new iBlocs and more support for mobile apps. Expert presenters showed attendees everything from best practices in app development for SAP environments to new ways for business analysts and project managers to reclaim lost time and savings with iRise visualization. And more than 37 attendees earned new iRise credentials, which Dice.com recently listed as one of the top five most searched-for credentials.

A slick new iRise app for the iPhone—available through iTunes—also set the conference abuzz.

Finally, this microsite has been created to help you follow up on the ideas generated in Fusion 2011. You’ll find a summary of most of the presentations, plus video and slides (in process now). We hope you’ll enjoy this site, and that you find it a great way to discover helpful new content.

Oh, and everybody had fun, especially at the after-hours party at the ink48 rooftop bar. Hope to see you at Fusion 2012!

New Mac Beta Available for Free Trial

To give businesses the widest possible choice of platforms for quickly creating productive new software and mobile apps that work right the first time, iRise® is releasing a Mac-based beta version of its popular visualization and prototyping software. Meeting the increasingly high expectations for business software created by the “consumerization of IT,” support for Mac OSX and Lion platforms allows a broader base of businesspeople and designers visualize and experience what it’s like to use new applications before they’re coded.

The beta version of iRise for the Mac is available for immediate download and 30-day trial HERE

iRise Community Helps Drive New Features

At Fusion 2011, it became obvious that the iRise community of successful leaders and implementers has reached the critical mass required to become an important force for improving the way organizations generate software.

For example, in a spirited voting session, attendees made their opinions known as they voted on what they’d like to see in upcoming releases of the iRise platform. They overwhelmingly voted for more iBlocs and more mobile content, but many other features received substantial support as well.

The designers of new iRise offerings take the voting very seriously, and all of the following features and enhancements, which are currently in the iRise 8.9 release, were suggested by users: Vote now

iRise Mobile App Now Supports the iPhone

We are pleased to announce that the iRise Mobile application now supports the iPhone as well as the iPad. The app is available for free in the iTunes App Store, and allows you to log into your iRise Definition Center directly from your iPhone or iPad and launch an iRise project. You can then interact with simulations in full-screen mode, using the native iOS functionality, giving you a true app experience.

As the demand for mobile solutions has exploded, companies need an effective way to experience iRise mobile visualizations on the devices themselves. This is really the only way to evaluate a mobile application, and with iRise you now can!

iRise Certifies New iRise Modelers and Experts at Fusion 2011

Among the many outstanding workshops offered at this year’s Fusion User Group Meeting, participants were offered the opportunity to join the ranks of iRise certified professionals by taking the iRise Certified Modeler™ Exam. As a direct result of this offer, we are happy to say that 28 Fusion attendees are now full-fledged iRise Certified Modelers!

A smaller group helped us pilot the brand new iRise Certified Expert™ Exam. For this advanced certification, candidates were given two hours to complete a very difficult modeling assignment, one that brought all of their software visualization skills and experience to bear. After a very intense two hours, nine participants emerged as the first-ever group of iRise Certified Experts. The entire group deserves our gratitude, as their experience will help us fine tune the exam for future candidates.

The enthusiastic response we received to our certification program at Fusion 2011 is just one more sign that iRise is growing in importance as a core competency for IT professionals. iRise certifications provide clear evidence to peers, organizational leaders and hiring managers that an individual possesses the knowledge and skills to use iRise effectively.
