Two new powerful iBocs have been released and are now available at iRise.com. Our partners at Good Methods Global have released the Swappable Image Grid iBloc, which allows you to create a dynamic grid of images that can be rearranged by dragging. Introducing the iBloc Lab!
Do you want to get involved in the iBloc design process? At the iBloc Lab you’ll find experimental iBlocs that are currently under consideration. They’re not ready for production use yet, but we encourage you to test them out and tell us what you think. iBlocs now available for download include:

• Highlight Guide: Guide your stakeholders through a simulation with shadow-box effect that sequentially highlights widgets
  

• Add Days: Add days to the date in a calendar widget
  

• Copy Value: Copy the value of one text input to another
  

• Jump on Char: Force a “tab” type action when the simulation user types a certain number of characters into a text input field
  

• Navigate on Enter: Execute an event (e.g. submit a form) when the user presses enter while a user input has focus

Responding to feedback on our iRise CodeGen 1.x product, we are pleased to announce that a beta version of iRise CodeGen 2.0 is now available. This version of CodeGen provides the ability to customize how code is produced from a visualization on a widget-by-widget basis through user-defined templates. In addition to our support for table-based and absolute positioning, we are also excited to announce our support for flow-based layout of HTML.

iRise is actively seeking qualified testers for the early release of CodeGen 2.0. If you are running iRise 8.5 or above and are interested in participating in the beta program, you can sign up here.

Capitalizing on a growing need for companies to better manage outsourcing strategies, iRise has announced that its iRise visualization software has been selected as a key enabler in commercial insurer CNA’s initiative to transform its major software development projects to a managed services model.

“Our decision to transition to a managed services model was a major shift for CNA. To ensure a successful transition, we needed to approach software definition from a new perspective,” said Ray Oral, chief information officer, CNA. “Software visualization has become a proven best practice for finally solving years of endemic communication problems between business, IT and global sourcing providers. The program provides select undergraduate and graduate programs with the opportunity to use cutting edge requirements visualization technology in computer science, human-computer interaction, IT and entrepreneurship courses. Using the iRise visualization solution in these courses provides students with practical experience that translates directly to the workplace and enables young innovators to express their ideas. Professors will have the ability to quickly present interface design concepts and demonstrate effective requirements elicitation.
