iRise Announces Testing Program for Apple Mac Platform
Alpha version of iRise 8.7 now available to qualified testers

Responding to strong customer demand, we are happy to announce that an alpha version of iRise Studio Enterprise Edition is now available for the Apple Mac platform. This version of iRise is fully integrated into the Mac OS framework, which allows for some unique features. The top menus follow the unified Mac standard. Both Spotlight and Finder are integrated, allowing you to launch an iDoc directly from both. Double clicking an iDoc will automatically add it to iRise Studio, as will dragging the iDoc to the Studio desktop icon.

NOTE: iRise Definition Center is not yet supported with this version.

iRise is actively seeking qualified testers for the Apple Mac early release to help us gain valuable feedback. If you are running Snow Leopard version 10.6 and are interested in participating in this alpha program, you can request an invitation here.

iRise on Campus

Rapid changes in business processes and technology demands professionals who know how to help organizations respond to those changes. More importantly, organizations need new recruits to be able to enter their companies ready to contribute. iRise is dedicated to helping top universities and colleges fulfill this mandate by providing them with full versions of iRise at no cost.

The iRise on Campus program helps to develop the visualization skills of students enabling them to provide the right solution in real time. The program provides select undergraduate and graduate university programs with the opportunity to use cutting edge requirements visualization technology in computer science, human-computer interaction, IT and entrepreneurship courses. Using the iRise visualization solution in these courses provides students with practical experience that translates directly to the workplace and enables young innovators to express their ideas. Kogod School of Business Joins iRise on Campus

American University’s Kogod School of Business in Washington D.C has joined the successful iRise higher education outreach On Campus program. Students studying business process and requirements analysis at both the undergraduate and graduate levels are currently using the software—the same deployed at many of America’s leading corporations—to better understand enterprise application development, including work on real client projects.

Last fall, a group of Kogod graduate students used iRise’s software, which enables users to create working previews of complex enterprise-level applications, to present a simulated Web-based immigration visa application system. The simulation allowed representatives of various consulting firms like Deloitte, Computer Sciences Corporation, IBM and Unisys, and other organizations like Marriott and Adventist Hospital to see and experience the students’ proposed solution to implement an application to modernize the application process with the goal of reducing application backlogs and wait times.

“iRise visualization software is state-of-the-art. It gives our students a rare and invaluable opportunity to gain experience with the most current innovation in enterprise software requirements planning,” said Professor Alberto Espinosa, instructor for the business analysis class. “By becoming proficient in the use of iRise, our students learn how to complement conventional process flow diagrams and specification documents with an interactive alternative that non-technical business people can understand, thus enhancing the quality of communications with a client, leading to a more accurate elicitation of business requirement to build effective applications.”

Qualified higher education institutions may gain access to iRise products through the iRise On Campus program. Send an email to academic@irise.com for more information.
