New solution leverages best practices from thousands of successful projects in centralized management resources to drive faster ROI for visualization investments

iRise Adoption Center™ is a new product that automates and integrates the people, processes, and technologies involved with the large-scale adoption of iRise enterprise visualization. Content and functionality that encapsulates best practices gained from years of experience helping hundreds of enterprises and thousands of users across tens of thousands of successful projects is now available in a turn-key product.

Adopting iRise on a large scale in any organization requires a change management program. Maintaining and improving iRise adoption when the change management program is completed requires a community of practice that takes over. Both the change management program and the community of practice need to be supported by multiple people, processes and technologies.

iRise Developer Network (iDN) Promotes Third-Party Innovation
Online community enables learning and collaboration for developers around iBlocs, integrations and extensions

The iRise Developer Network (iDN) is an online community designed to promote and encourage iRise customers, to promote and encourage iRise customers, partners and independent developers to extend the iRise visualization platform by leveraging the recently announced iRise iBloc™ and iConnect™ APIs.

Now two months old, the iDN provides comprehensive information and peer-based collaboration that will drive the rapid development of new iBlocs and iConnect extensions for either internal customer use or contribution to the iRise user community. Dozens of iBlocs are already available in a marketplace on the iRise Website.

Listen to the Pulse Business Analyst Survey

In November 2010 iRise conducted a survey of business analysts intended to illuminate key data and trend information about this emerging role. The results shed light on many interesting aspects of their work habits, education, and their current approach to requirements elicitation and documentation work.

Key Findings:

  • There is a broad range of titles for business analysts, or people whose job it is to elicit, document and manage requirements for software projects. While the titles of business analyst or business systems analyst were most common (70%), there is a broad range of titles identified by the remaining 30% of respondents.

  • A surprising number of business analysts have been in their jobs less than 2 years (37%), indicating either high turnover or recent hiring increases.

  • A considerable number of respondents have masters degrees or better (33%), indicating strong motivation at improvement and continuing education.

  • Business analysts are getting the message that speed, cost reduction and customer-focused initiatives are top priorities at their companies.

  • A remarkable percentage of respondents have no signing authority to purchase software (82%).

  • Only 36% of respondents claim that their current approach to requirements elicitation and documentation works most of the time. Although two thirds of business analysts have significant issues with the way they define applications today, the vast majority continue to use outdated tools in the process.

8.7 Beta Program for iBloc Authors Announced

Attention iBloc developers: We are currently upgrading some of our internal web code and libraries. Those changes revolve around our use of Jquery and DocType. iBloc authors may want to test their iBlocs using the iRise 8.7 Beta release to make sure these changes don’t affect their iBlocs.

The installer for iRise 8.7 Beta allows it to be installed concurrently to existing GA Studio, so you don’t need to worry about it interfering with your production iRise work. If you are interested in participating in the program, please send an email to beta@irise.com.
