2011 iRise User Group Registration Now Open
Focus will be on Mobility, SAP and Acceleration
We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the free iRise User Group Meeting in New York City on October 13, 2011. The meeting offers an opportunity to share best practices, build relationships with other iRise customers, get a sneak peek at the iRise product road map, and to hear, talk and engage in discussion with executives and practitioners from AT&T, Deutsche Bank, ADP, as well as iRise partners SAP, IBM, and others.

In addition to the main session, on Wednesday October 12 there will be a series of workshops and break-out sessions such as Mobile Visualization Best Practices, Modeling Tips & Tricks, iBloc Development, iRise 1:1 Genius Lab, and more.

Also held on Wednesday will be a unique opportunity to gain both Modeler and Expert level iRise Certification absolutely free. Not only will iRise provide the test and certification at no charge, we will also run exam prep sessions before the tests. iRise Certification is a very valuable asset to have (see Dice.com story below). If it's something you've ever considered, don't miss out on this chance.

And as usual, iRise will be hosting fun evening activities so that guests can enjoy the more colorful side of New York City.

The Edison Ballroom is an amazing venue. It was originally opened in the 30’s, constructed in the classic “art deco” design. Over the years it’s offered swing dancing and dinner, hosted various Broadway productions, and as “The Supper Club” it provided an intimate venue for artists including Count Basie, Rod Stewart, Herbie Hancock, Tony Bennett and Bob Dylan. It is now a frequent choice for high profile NYC events.

If you have any questions regarding this event please feel free to contact Nancy Kwon at nkwon@irise.com. For more information and to register: Click Here

iRise Skills on "Most Wanted" List

In the July 2011 issue The Dice Report, issued by leading career website Dice.com, the monthly analysis of job postings and other search activity related to the technology and engineering industries placed iRise at the top of the “5 new trends”. A Dice.com source noted: “The emergence of new trends often occurs first in our resume database, simply because 80 percent of employers search resumes before posting their job,” Hill said in her published remarks. “Based on our insights, it’s time to take notice of this group of five.”

iRise also made the top 10 most popular search term lists. As pointed out in the 5 surprising IT skills that hiring managers want now on Computerworld, this is further validation of iRise growth:

“Interestingly, iRise also made the list of most popular search terms overall -- an indication that it's emerging at a fast and furious clip. Dice.com's most popular search terms overall, ranked from 1 to 10, are: Java or Java developer or J2EE; .Net or .Net developer; business analyst; SharePoint or SharePoint developer; project manager; Oracle DBA; C#; QA or quality assurance; iRise; and PHP.”

A fast and furious clip indeed! With over 150 online job postings on the internet citing iRise expertise, honing your modeling skills is time well spent. Mobile Simulations Just Got Easier! New iPhone iBlocs Released

We've just released a set of new iPhone related iBlocs, making the creation of mobility simulations quicker, simpler, and much more true to life. Creating once complex functionality like an iPhone keyboard or value picker is now as easy as drag-drop-configure. This new set is added to an already long list of powerful iBlocs which greatly extend the power of the iRise platform. The new iBlocs include:

  • iPhone Alert iBloc: This widget lets you easily simulate the standard iPhone alert dialog, including configurable title, buttons and more.

  • iPhone Keyboard iBloc - Horizontal & Vertical: These widgets let you easily simulate an interactive iPhone keyboard that is used during simulation review to enter text into text inputs and text areas in the simulation.

  • iPhone Date Picker - Horizontal & Vertical: These widgets let you easily simulate a spinning date picker commonly used on the iPhone. You can use it to collect a "date" input from the user in various formats.

  • iPhone Value Picker - Horizontal & Vertical: These widgets let you easily simulate a spinning value picker commonly used on the iPhone. You can use it to collect user input in the simulation.

Along with these new iBlocs, the Number Formatter, Tree and Slider iBlocs were also updated with new versions.

The most exciting part of this news is that it's just the tip of the iceberg. Much more exciting mobility and iBloc related news is just around the corner. Stay tuned!

“Our class emphasizes the process of prototyping as a way to provide a richer view of a project not only for users, but also for senior managers who must approve the project,” Dr. Steele noted. “It’s very rewarding for the students to leverage iRise as a way to create a multi-faceted simulation that allows all the stakeholders to buy-in quickly to the key aspects of a project.” – Dr. Adam Steele
