| Austin Energy Selects iRise Enterprise Visualization |
| Business stakeholders 'test drive' critical projects before coding |
|
|
|
Austin Energy, a leader in deploying smart electric grids and deploying a new model for customer involvement, has chosen iRise to visualize two mission-critical software projects: an online customer care portal slated to go live in 2011 and a complex reporting interface to a new 'Power Saver' portal designed to boost energy efficiency initiatives. By visualizing before development, Austin Energy will be streamlining definition and delivery while at the same time conducting full cycle usability testing early in the process to ensure customer adoption.
The new customer care portal is designed to improve consumer access and will be integrated with the city's electric, water and waste-collection operations and other city operations. The goal is to provide a single point of contact for customers for all utility-based products and services.
Prior to the use of iRise, business analysts at Austin Energy would document application requirements using text, use case diagrams, story boards and static screen shots. With the use of iRise, users are more easily able to review and collaborate around requirements, reducing requirement cycle times. Read More

Save the Date: What’s New in iRise 8
Pete Indelicato, iRise Senior Product Manager
Thursday, April 15th at 10:00am PDT/ 1:00pm EST
Very soon iRise will be introducing the next major version of our enterprise visualization platform: iRise 8. This web seminar will offer the opportunity to learn what's new in iRise 8, see it in action and ask questions of the product experts.
Pete Indelicato will be hosting the event. During Pete’s 12 years working in software definition, he worked in “big five” management consulting and .com ventures before joining iRise nine years ago. Since then, Pete helped launch V1 of the iRise platform, managed professional services for the very first iRise customers, and helped dozens of our most successful customers succeed in software simulation and visualization. In 2004, he transferred from the field to Product Definition, where he continues to study customer needs around software visualization and manage the definition of the iRise capabilities that meet those needs. Check your inbox for the web seminar invitation.
How Much is Enough? Best Practices for Using Visualization Across a Spectrum of Projects
Karen Bennett, Manager, InterContinental Hotel Groups
Wednesday, April 21st at 10:00am PDT/ 1:00pm EST
Starting with the initial concept of an idea through design, testing, build, launch and training there are simulation concepts which provide insight and value for almost any project. But there is a fine line between what is just enough and what is too much. At times a two step basic flow is completely sufficient. For other projects having a full blown interactive design concept in three languages will be the only thing that does the trick. To find out more and register: Click Here

iRise Professional Services is Hiring!
As the market for iRise visualization continues to accelerate and expand, so does the demand for iRise Professional Services. "I already planned for significant growth for our Professional Services team based on our fantastic product sales results in 2009. We are not even through the first quarter of the year and I am forecasting that we could double or triple our growth plans for 2010," said Jacques Marine, EVP of Service.
Specifically, iRise Professional Services is looking to hire up to five professional services consultants to start in April followed by an equal number to start in July. The current focus is on candidates that are interested in training, mentoring, and augmenting new iRise users to help companies drive iRise adoption, use, and value. Ideal candidates are business analysts, interaction designers, and consultants with prior iRise experience that like to work on short term, high impact projects. "One of the real perks of working in the iRise Professional Services team is the chance to work with different people, on different projects, at different clients, in different locations every few weeks. Given our global clients and our expansion into Europe, it’s also a fantastic job for people that love to travel," said Jacques.
Do you know someone who fits this profile? If so, have them visit the iRise Career section of the website to learn more about the open positions and to submit resumes and referrals.

Hybrid Enterprise Modeling SAP
With iRise the possibilities are endless. Our good friends over at id8 have some particularly cool examples. This video shows how reusable asset libraries can be created and applied to accelerate simulation of any application or website that has a consistent page structure and design gives an overview of a hybrid approach to enterprise system modeling, using SAP as an example..
