Computerworld article focuses on benefits of using iRise

Computerworld - When Jan Scheetz was asked for a wish list of what she wanted in an electronic physician-order system for patient rehab regimens, she wasn't shy about her requirements. According to Scheetz, the ideal system would generate a valid electronic signature from a physician, which is necessary to process insurance and Medicare claims but is often a challenge to obtain.

"This is something we were dreaming of for a long time," says Scheetz, the outpatient supervisor at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Right now "we have consults online that [do not result in] signed orders" and therefore require substantial manual work to complete. But a new process will allow hospital staffers to treat an online consultation as a valid signed order generated by a physician. visualizing software

Perhaps best of all, Scheetz and her colleagues got to see what the system would look like even before it was developed.

The FedEx UX Journey, Part 1: The genesis of FedEx's UX practice

In this article from UX Magazine, Tom Wicinski, the VP of Digital Access Marketing at FedEx, discusses how iRise was not only helpful in soliciting business requirements (which was their main intent), but also how they've also been able to use it to evangelize design opportunities for consideration to the various project teams.

Underlying FedEx's global shipping and logistics business is a complex technological infrastructure with many digital customer touchpoints. FedEx has recognized the need to improve the user experience of its systems, and has taken strong steps toward not only creating a UX practice area, but also toward moving the entire company to pay closer attention to UX in its customer-facing products. This interview is the first in a set of articles that examine how FedEx is building its UX competency and practice. They're still early in what they call the UX 'maturity model', so this interview focuses on the genesis of the effort and some of its early goals and successes.

iRise CEO to Moderate Panel at World BPO/ITO Forum

Once again this year, iRise is proud to announce its partnership with The 3rd annual World BPO/ITO Forum, to be held July 28-29, 2010. iRise CEO and co-founder Emmet B. Keeffe III is a member of the steering committee and board of directors for this prestigious event and will also be moderating a panel discussion entitled: “Global Sourcing Trends for 2010 & Beyond: New Business Models & Destinations”.

As the global economy recovers, there is a general consensus that businesses will have to adjust to a “new normal”. In a changed business environment, IT and operational decision-makers are being tasked with creating sustainable business value and driving incremental cost savings. Strategic sourcing, including a “rightshoring” approach which blends onshore, nearshore and offshore to offer optimal value, is an integral part of this directive. iRise is an important part of this process, offering a powerful way for companies to communicate more effectively with their global sourcing partners.

The World BPO/ITO Forum is an annual event that attracts executives interested in optimizing the use of human resources globally by seeking to outsource selected business processes and analytically understanding the trends and concerns that will impact the BPO industry’s future. The World BPO/ITO Forum takes place on July 28th and 29th at the Hyatt Regency on the Hudson, Jersey City – NJ. Click here to get more information and to register.
