Fred Killeen, General Motors CTO Speaks Out on the Topic of Application Rationalization

The first in a series of executive leadership conversations was held online March 19th with Fred Killeen, CTO at General Motors. Moderating the session was Gary Beach, publisher emeritus from CIO magazine who briefly covered the latest “State of the CIO” survey results. iRise CEO and co-founder Emmet Keeffe also participated in a lively discussion about application rationalization and how CIOs are leveraging the recession to finally ‘break the glass’ on application development cost cutting. On the broadcast, Mr. Killeen talked about how GM has utilized iRise visualization along with revamped processes to reduce the number of applications supported by the IT organization from 7,000 a few short years ago to the 1,800 supported today.

RIIS Drives 400% Business Growth with iRise Visualizations
RIIS (Research Into Internet Systems), a Detroit-based custom Web development firm has posted a record 400% growth in its business in 2008 due largely to the use of iRise visualization. RIIS focuses on building custom Web solutions for growing companies and has adopted visualization from iRise as a core competency to drive increased sales and improved client relationships. RIIS has also joined the iRise Alliance Partner program and will partner with iRise on application development projects in the region.
