iRise Closes Record Quarter & Fiscal Year
|

Software revenue for Q4 2008 beats entire 2007 total |

|
iRise has announced that software revenue for the just completed fiscal Q4 2008 surpassed the entire fiscal year 2007 total. In addition, software revenue for 2008 increased by 50% over the previous year, making fiscal year 2008 a record for the company. iRise is a privately held company backed by Morgan Stanley Venture Partners, Deutsche Bank and other investors.
“The current economic climate is actually fueling our dramatic growth,” stated Emmet B. Keeffe III, CEO and co-founder of iRise. “In today’s economy it’s more imperative than ever to find ways to cut IT cost and deliver more effectively in a global model. Many organizations are now making visualization a standard for how they define and deliver mission-critical systems.”
The iRise customer list includes the best run companies and integrators in the world. iRise added a record number of new software customers in 2008, many of which are ranked in the Global 1000 from a diverse range of industries including healthcare, banking, insurance, retail, distribution, manufacturing, oil & gas, technology and others. Moreover, a record number of companies in 2008 made decisions to standardize enterprise-wide on visualization from iRise, as a must-have solution to dramatically cut IT cost and deliver business critical innovation to market faster. Fiscal year 2008 also marked the establishment of an iRise federal sector office focused on helping agencies and integrators accelerate government modernization efforts.
“During the last recession, IT leaders lowered infrastructure cost by implementing virtualization and consolidating data centers,” Mr. Keeffe continued. “During this downturn, CIOs are now focused on the next big opportunity to cut cost: reducing application development spend by accelerating global sourcing and application rationalization initiatives. The ability for global stakeholders to visualize applications early in the process is the pivotal component to ensure that these strategies pay dividends for the business. While our customers were facing budget cuts, they realized that visualization was an investment they couldn’t afford not to make.”

Featured InformationWeek article discusses how UPS adopting iRise significantly improved their process |

Most business software gets written wrong the first time. Usually by a little, sometimes by a mile, but almost always because of the difficulty of capturing every requirement up front.
That held true at UPS, despite close ties between business units and IT teams. "Business users really don't know what they want until they see it," says Bruce Besserer, UPS's systems manager for enterprise data architecture. "That's really the crux of the problem."
UPS's solution, championed by CIO David Barnes, includes using simulations that show how a person can interact with an application before even prototype code gets written, using visualization software from iRise.

New product accelerates delivery, cuts cost of social networking applications
iRise® and Ascendant Technology (Atech) have announced the immediate availability of iRise for IBM® Lotus Connections, a pre-configured set of visualization templates that gives organizations a unique way to visualize new community and social networking applications based on IBM Lotus portal and social stack solutions. Both iRise and Atech are selling iRise for IBM Lotus Connections.
iRise for IBM Lotus Connections was demonstrated at the Lotusphere Conference in Orlando, FL from January 18th through January 21st. (more information to come in the next edition of Visualize)
Jointly developed by iRise and Atech, iRise for IBM Lotus Connections offers a visualization toolkit of generalized IBM Lotus solution-based page templates, masters and styles used to accelerate the assembly of high-fidelity, working simulations of proposed social networking applications. Starting with a library of pre-configured content and by leveraging the power of iRise Studio, business analysts can bring together a working preview of proposed solutions in a fraction of the time it would take to generate paper specification documents or build coded prototypes. Business stakeholders can ‘test drive’ the visualizations on their own or in collaborative meetings that directly involve subject matter experts. Comments can be logged and acted upon quickly, speeding consensus and eliminating confusion on business requirements.

iRise has announced the immediate availability of a special version of iRise designed to be used on implementations of packaged applications based on SAP solutions. A special version of iRise Definition Center is now shipping that contains a pre-configured set of visualization templates that gives organizations a unique way to quickly visualize proposed changes to a broad range of implementations of SAP solutions – before coding. iRise can be used to dramatically shorten requirements cycle times on customization projects related to SAP solutions, which helps accelerate delivery and cuts the cost of downstream implementations. iRise visualizations can also be used as an alternative to 'sandbox' implementations that have traditionally been used by business people to test proposed implementations.
The new version of iRise Definition Center includes a visualization toolkit of generalized SAP solution-based page templates, masters and styles that are used to accelerate the assembly of high-fidelity, working simulations of proposed extensions of SAP applications. Starting with the library of pre-configured content from iRise and leveraging the power of iRise Studio, business analysts can bring together a working preview of proposed SAP solution-based extensions in a fraction of the time it would take to set up and maintain a sandbox environment or generate paper requirements documents. Business stakeholders can ‘test drive’ the visualizations on their own or in collaborative meetings that directly involve subject matter experts. Comments can be logged and acted upon quickly, speeding consensus and eliminating confusion on what to build.

iRise Instructor Led Training Now Virtual |
|
|
iRise is now offering its public, instructor-led training courses in a virtual format via the Web. While the on-site public training courses successfully fills a strong market demand for iRise training to individual and small groups, many who are interested in attending such courses sometimes find the scheduling difficult. By offering its instructor-led training courses in a virtual format via the Web, iRise expects to fill the training needs for these iRise users.
"iRise has successfully provided private 'virtual' training courses to companies with iRise users in multiple locations for many years. Given the growing number of iRise users domestically and internationally, in large and small cities, and in large and small companies, the time has finally come to offer the 'virtual' training option to the general public." - Jacques Marine, EVP of Services, iRise
iRise will continue to provide its instructor-led training courses in person to the general public and to private companies. "If it’s feasible, there is a definite advantage to be in the same room with the instructor and to be in the same course with co-workers from the same company who will contribute and learn from the training course in the same context." iRise will also continue to provide its successful series of e-Learning training courses for companies and individuals that need on-demand initial training or a quick refresher on a particular topic. A complete description of all of the iRise training courses, including a complete schedule of the virtual training courses and other public training courses are available on the iRise website.
