CIO Magazine: FedEx Speeds Delivery with iRise
FedEx's use of visualization software helps company staffers collaborate more concisely on new software features for online customers

In September, CIO magazine published a great article about how Rob Carter, global CIO at FedEx, has driven accelerated application delivery by making a strategic bet on visualization from iRise. From the article:

"The real story that lurks out there, plaguing every CIO, is the complexity of it all," Carter says. "How can we introduce things faster? How do we enable a business to move more quickly? That's where we can create the most value." The ability to dynamically and visually show what a developing product will look like generates "a lot of excitement and speed in the front-end processes," the CIO adds. "That's the primary time when you're working with business." Read More

Capgemini Standardizing on iRise
North America Technology Services transforms delivery with enterprise visualization

In October, Capgemini U.S. LLC, one of the world's foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, announced that they are standardizing on visualization solutions from iRise in North America to engage with clients from initial discovery through solutions delivery. "Capgemini is leading the way in working with clients to find new ways of delivering sustainable results and value. Visualization is a clear competitive advantage because it is a proven strategy that is aimed at improving our clients' ROI, reducing risk and cutting rework costs by potentially up to 70 percent, enabling us to deliver projects faster." Visualization Changes App Dev At UPS
Featured InformationWeek article in January discusses how UPS adopting iRise significantly improved their process

Most business software gets written wrong the first time. Usually by a little, sometimes by a mile, but almost always because of the difficulty of capturing every requirement up front.

That held true at UPS, despite close ties between business units and IT teams. "Business users really don't know what they want until they see it," says Bruce Besserer, UPS's systems manager for enterprise data architecture. "That's really the crux of the problem." UPS's solution, championed by CIO David Barnes, includes using simulations that show how a person can interact with an application before even prototype code gets written, using visualization software from iRise. BP Adopts iRise Visualization Platform
Visualization key to BP's application consolidation & global sourcing initiatives

In April, BP, one of the world’s largest energy companies, adopted solutions from iRise with the intent of visualizing and fully experiencing new software applications before development. This new approach is designed to eliminate ambiguity and get the right systems delivered the first time – on budget, on time and with all the features needed by the client.

Users around the world will be able to interact with and fully experience visualizations of the proposed solutions and provide feedback in real time. The application definition team at BP can then rapidly iterate to the right answer in a fraction of the time it would take with traditional methods. Read More
