Event Recap: 2006 CIO 100 August 20-22, 2006
High Performance Innovation
At the 8th annual CIO 100 event, presented by CIO Magazine at the landmark Hotel Del Corona in San Diego, CA, iRise hosted a distinguished reception for more than 300 IT executives. The theme of the reception, High Performance Innovation, was punctuated by the iRise Pontiac GTO.R – an automobile that was fully simulated before it was built.
Every element of the Pontiac GTO.R was modeled by Pratt & Miller via simulation prior to being built. The goal of the modeling exercise was to design a racecar that could beat the production-based sportscars in handling and torque. The models have enabled the engineers to create an American-based chassis that is tunable in 20 different dimensions to the complex needs facing the drivers at specific tracks and under changing conditions.

Visualize Success: The Case for Innovation
A fundamental shift is taking place in global corporations from implementation to design. Business is under increasing pressure to leverage innovation as a competitive tool to achieve agility and growth. It's less important how or where to build things; it's more important to understand what to build. This change affects nearly every industry across the globe.
At the iRise Technology and Briefing Session, Guido Sacchi, CIO and Senior Vice President for CompuCredit, a 2006 CIO 100 award winning recipient and Mitch Bishop, Chief Marketing Officer for iRise, using case studies and drawing from personal experience, shared with CIO 100 attendees how to drive innovation as an effective strategy for growth.
The presentation covered the following topics:
- The case for innovation – why it matters
- How other industries have become design driven
- How to instill a culture of innovation
- How simulation can drive innovation
- The future of design-driven organizations
