Agistics Selects iRise Application Simulation Software to Gain Early Attention with Prospective Customers, Partners and Employees

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — December 5, 2005 — iRise® the world's leading application definition software and services company, continues to change the way established organizations are developing software applications and bringing them to market, as well as influencing how innovative start-up companies are turning their ideas into a reality. The company today announced that Agistics, a start-up focusing on the delivery of Software as a Service leveraged the iRise solution during the initial development of its hosted application for Employee Services. The iRise simulation was used to provide a tangible demonstration of this new offering to prospective employees and customers before coding was even begun, shaving time and cost from its development cycle.

“The Agistics composite application concept fills a unique need in the marketplace -- our challenge was in presenting the idea in a way that would convey its benefits to key stakeholders, said Dean Alms, CEO of Agistics. “The iRise platform eliminated the ambiguity of a new product defined in static slides and text-based materials. With iRise technology, we are able to provide a realistic simulation of the new application with customer and partner focus groups. As a result of this early interaction, important adjustments to the application design were made before it was sent to development, saving us significant dollars down the line.”

Agistics is developing a new Software as a Service offering for employee services, such as compensation and benefits, communications and technology, travel, expense management and procurement. The goal is not to replace existing application and services, but to dramatically improve the end-user experience, manageability and visibility of these employee services with a new application architecture and hosted delivery model.

“Key to Agistics’ decision to deploy iRise technology was the solution’s affordability and ease of use,” continued Alms. “As a start-up venture, we did not have the luxury of a big budget or specialized resources to develop an interactive simulation. The iRise software was so simple to use that one of our non-technical employees was able to build an impressive product simulation in just a few weeks”.

“Organizations such as Agistics are realizing early in their development that that text-based documents do not have the ability to engage key stakeholders,” said Maurice Martin, president and co-founder of iRise. “When you’re developing a product and introducing a brand new concept to the marketplace, there is no room for ambiguity. iRise was founded on the belief that if you can visualize it, you can deliver it – on time, and on budget. We look forward to supporting Agistics and other software start-ups in their quest to drive business innovation.”
