iRise Hosts Symposium on Innovation at First Annual World Congress for Business Analysts
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — November 14, 2005 — iRise® the world's leading application definition software and services company, will host a full-day symposium on innovation in software requirements definition at the first annual World Congress for Business Analysts. The November 15, 2005 event will not only explore the concept of innovation throughout the enterprise, but will specifically address the challenges that Business Analysts (BAs) face in the design of software applications. A series of interactive discussions will confront the communication gaps associated with traditional software requirements management processes and identify methods by which organizations can simulate to innovate.
The iRise symposium will kick off with an introduction by iRise product evangelist David Walker and a keynote from Michael Schrage, an advisor to global organizations on the economics of innovation and a director at MIT Media Labs. Schrage will discuss simulation as a catalyst for innovation – an enabler for improved collaboration amongst teams.
“Innovative approaches lead to innovative results,” said Walker. “Simulation is the innovative approach to application definition that the industry has been looking for. Visual simulations form a common language between business and IT, helping to reduce the project delays and budget overruns that have become common side effects of this endemic language barrier.”
Zane Reinhard, vice president and director of user experience at Citibank; and Aidoo Osei, senior business analyst at SunTrust; will also discuss the current state of practice in application definition and the challenges faced by BAs within their companies. Both Reinhard and Osei have used simulation to bridge the divide between business and IT, delivering innovative products within their organizations.
