iRise Launches iDoc Express

Rapid simulation service converts application requirements into visual, interactive simulations for fixed cost

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Oct. 9, 2006 — iRise®, the world's leading application definition software company, today announced the immediate availability of iDoc Express, a turnkey services offering that quickly translates business application requirements into high-fidelity visual simulations at a fixed price. iDoc Express brings the power of high-fidelity software simulation into the hands of project teams in a rapid response model, without the need to purchase and install software. The new service can be used to quickly visualize innovative products prior to funding, help elicit more complete and accurate requirements during the initial stages of the project, perform a gap analysis on existing project requirements, help recover projects in distress and create visual blueprints for development. Simulation is a proven strategy that cuts risk, eliminates expensive rework and speeds time to market for complex business applications.

Getting requirements wrong is the biggest impediment to launching usable business applications. However, defining them right the first time is the easiest way to avoid rework and speed time to innovation. Teams defining complex business systems using iDoc Express gain quick consensus and clarity regarding their requirements and receive an unambiguous, enforceable visual blueprint for what to build.

Forrester Research, in a report on the role requirements plays in the success of software development, stated, "High-fidelity prototyping tools in particular help increase business stakeholder engagement in the requirements definition process and help IT secure real buy-in — as opposed to just formal sign-off — on requirements." This report, "The Root of the Problem: Poor Requirements," is by Carey Schwaber of Forrester Research, Inc., dated Sept. 1, 2006.

"iDoc Express makes the power of the iRise simulation platform available as a quick turn-around, high-value service," said Maurice Martin, president, chief operating officer and founder of iRise. "This service offers project teams a high-fidelity simulation of their application in a rapid response model and at a fixed cost, eliminating barriers to entry for many companies. Business application simulation is within reach for a whole new spectrum of companies and projects."

Business professionals now have an easy way to make use of interactive visualization in the creation of realistic simulations of desired functionality in order to better communicate with their solution partner — be they internal or outsourced IT resources.

iDoc Express customers receive an iDoc at the end of the engagement; an interactive blueprint that is a portable, encapsulated simulation which can be emailed to stakeholders and development partners and easily reviewed with the free iRise Reader.

"Ambiguities in textual requirements specification are like little bombs, waiting to go off downstream in the application lifecycle," said Mr. Martin. "When compared to the high cost of failing or missing time-to-market objectives — iDoc Express is a very cost-effective insurance policy."

Pricing For qualified projects, iDoc Express is economically priced at $4,995 for up to 20 Web pages/screens of business functionality, with guaranteed turnaround time of 48 hours. Other options are available based on client-specific needs.
