iRise Announces Next Generation BEA Integration
New Release of iRise® SimConnect™ for BEA WebLogic Workshop Designed to Provide Developers with Significant Head Start for Development
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — July 26, 2004 — Developers can now be better positioned to make successful and cost-effective software development a reality more quickly thanks to the latest generation of iRise's integration with BEA. With the release of the iRise® SimConnect™ for BEA WebLogic WorkshopTM, developers can benefit from a head start in the application development process which can result in projects that can be completed faster and under budget, thus helping to provide large organizations with an increased competitive advantage.
In related news today, iRise (www.irise.com), a leading enterprise software and services company dedicated to bridging the communication gap between business and IT, also announced the latest release of the company's flagship product-the iRise Application Simulator 3.1-which is the first solution of its kind designed specifically to meet the complex needs of large organizations, enabling business users to realize faster and easier requirements validation cycles, as well as to visually validate and "test market" applications with customers, business partners and employees prior to development (see separate announcement, "iRise Announces the iRise Application Simulator 3.1").
As software applications become increasingly complex, organizations are in need of a way to improve the success rate of customized development projects, as well as to help reduce the time it takes to complete projects, which can often become stalled or end in failure after months of time and money have been invested-largely due to poor communication between business users and developers. The next generation of iRise SimConnect is designed to provide BEA WebLogic Workshop developers with a jump-start in the application development process by generating and exporting Web applications (including page flows and simulated pages) directly into the BEA WebLogic Workshop environment. This synergistic relationship is designed to help further shorten the application development lifecycle.
The enhanced integration of the iRise Application Simulator and BEA WebLogic Workshop is also designed to enhance communication between developers and business users through improved business requirements traceability, which can enable pre-existing associations between business requirements and web pages to be retained within the Workshop environment. The concept behind the integration of the two technologies is straightforward for business users and developers alike - iRise can help empower business users to visually model and simulate applications, while BEA WebLogic Workshop can help empower application developers at all levels to visually design and develop enterprise-class applications.
"Time truly is money when it comes to software development, and it's unbelievable how much time is wasted within organizations each year on stalled or failed development, or projects that just take longer than they should," said Emmet B. Keeffe III, CEO and co-founder, iRise. "The latest generation of our integration with BEA is designed to make it possible for large organizations to stop this bleeding and to help them realize successful development more quickly without jeopardizing productivity or innovation."
The iRise Application Simulator platform is designed to provide business users with the ability to visually validate requirements and "test drive" software through an interactive simulation prior to development, thus helping to ensure that customized applications can meet the needs of the business while minimizing development time and cost. The platform can allow for the definition, testing and approval of Web-based business software before developers write the first line of code, eliminating up to 30 percent of overall development costs. Additionally, by serving as a common communications medium at the earliest stages of the development process, the iRise Application Simulator can help organizations dramatically reduce the risks associated with offshore outsourcing-bridging gaps in language, time zones, and cultures to help ensure that organizations realize the true business benefits of outsourcing.
Availability
The latest version of the iRise SimConnect for BEA Weblogic Workshop will be widely available starting August 1, 2004.
