iRise announces integration with IBM Rational Requisite Pro; move enables users to validate collected requirements
Over Thirty Partners Offer Controls Designed to Extend BEA WebLogic Workshop Development Environment to Quickly Integrate with BEA's Innovative New Platform
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- July 15, 2003 - In the first in a series of high-value integrations with major enterprise software platforms, iRise (www.irise.com), a leading enterprise software and services company dedicated to B2IT™ communication, announced today that users of IBM Rational® RequisitePro® software will now be able to extend and complement their existing investment with iRise Application Simulator.
To facilitate the integration, iRise has introduced ReqConnect™ Gateway, a component that will enable users of Rational RequisitePro to validate collected requirements - ensuring that they are clear, correct and complete - before beginning the design and development process.
The iRise integration with RequisitePro software also provides traceability from requirements to the simulation. Use cases and other text requirements defined by the business and captured in RequisitePro can be associated to pages and page widgets within the iRise simulation. Functional specifications can then be generated that present requirements in the context of the user interface, which greatly enhances the ability for business users to confirm that their business needs have been captured accurately.
"IBM Rational users can now benefit from added clarity in the requirements definition process," said Emmet B. Keeffe III, CEO and co-founder, iRise "iRise Application Simulator users can now leverage their existing investment in the Rational product suite. It's a win-win solution. The iRise integration provides a powerful, interactive way to elicit requirements, and adds a visual simulation and validation component that fits perfectly into the Rational Unified Process®."
iRise Application Simulator enables business analysts to create a functionally-rich, data-aware, interactive simulation of Web applications without a single line of code, allows business users to use and test software prior to development, supports remote collaboration in the requirements definition process, and eliminates up to 40 percent of development costs overall.
IBM Rational RequisitePro, an easy-to-use requirements management tool, enables users to maintain the way they document requirements, using Microsoft Word, while leveraging analytical capabilities such as requirements analysis, coverage and change impact. With the combination of these capabilities and iRise Application Simulator's visual approach to application definition, users of IBM Rational RequisitePro software now have an even more effective and complete requirements management solution.
Adding visual simulation to the mix makes it vastly easier - and more cost-effective - to validate user requirements before development takes place.
