iRise Selected by CNA for Visual Application Definition

Leading Business Insurer Adopts Application Simulation to Eliminate Costly Rework and Optimize Outsourced Development

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. –— April 18, 2005 — iRise®, the world’s leading application definition software and services company, today announced that CNA, one of the country’s largest providers of property and casualty insurance, has adopted the iRise application simulation platform. The iRise visual simulations for application definition help companies eliminate expensive late stage rework due to missing or ambiguous requirements, as well as ensure delivery of high quality applications faster whether they are internal, outsourced or global development projects.

As business systems have become more complex, text-based requirements are not sufficient for defining and validating application flow, business logic and usability. Often when companies consider outsourcing the development of web-based business applications and portals, they realize that text-based requirements pose some of the greatest risks to these projects. Portals, in particular, are inherently visual applications so without an interactive, visual simulation, organizations face the threat of delivering incomplete, incorrect or ambiguous requirements to the development team. To mitigate these risks, leading organizations are adopting iRise to visually validate application requirements with the necessary stakeholders, including the internal and outsourced development teams. In addition, iRise partners – like the Acquity Group – are using the iRise solution, to quickly gather, analyze and simulate the stakeholder requirements prior to development, thus helping to ensure that customized portal projects will meet the needs of their clients while minimizing expensive late-stage rework.

"The iRise simulations allow us to rapidly and iteratively validate the client’s needs early in the process ensuring we have the right requirements from the start," said Chris Dalton, CEO of Acquity Group. "Working with the iRise simulation platform enables us to fully optimize the solutions into our customers' functionally-rich environment."

"Global development holds tremendous promise for leading organizations today, but also tremendous risk," said Mitch Bishop, chief marketing officer at iRise. "iRise offers a simple and effective way to eliminate much of this risk through interactive, visual simulations that everyone understands. Like other major corporations today, CNA is adopting simulation as a fundamental solution to getting applications defined right – the first time."
