Veteran sales executive Dean Terry joins iRise in new post of EVP, Global Sales
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- April 15, 2003 - On the heels of the early success of its iRise Application Simulator platform, iRise announced today that industry veteran Dean Terry has been named to the new post of Executive Vice President, Global Sales.
Terry brings to iRise 20 years of experience in domestic and international business development, general management, and high technology sales from a wide range of computer hardware and software-related businesses. The company introduced iRise Application Simulator in late January as its initial product offering, culminating two years of intensive R&D. iRise is dedicated to bridging the communication gap that exists between business and IT, and provides IT consulting services in addition to its iRise Application Simulator platform.
Most recently, Terry served as Executive Vice President of Sales at Heartlab Inc, a global supplier of enterprise-wide cardiology IT solutions, where he tripled the size of the sales force and grew sales at a rate that earned the company recognition from Inc. Magazine as one of the nation's fastest growing high technology firms in 2002. Prior to joining Heartlab, Terry served as general manager of the computer division of Acuson Corporation, the market leader for medical ultrasound systems, helping the company double its revenues and register a fourfold increase in profits. Siemens acquired Acuson in 2000 at an 85 percent premium over the previous year's average NYSE price.
"Dean is a terrific addition to the iRise team," said Maurice Martin, president and founder, iRise. "With his track-record in expanding businesses into global markets, dramatically increasing both revenues and profits, we look forward to channeling the market's enthusiasm for iRise Application Simulator into sustaining customer relationships."
"iRise is a thoughtful, dynamic company with disruptive software technology and a real vision for shaking up the status quo in the application development world," Terry said. "iRise Application Simulator represents a paradigm shift in the relationship between business and IT, and the product has an uncanny ability to deliver ROI quickly. I'm eager to bring that message to our Fortune 500 accounts, across a range of industries and vertical markets."
Terry previously served for 10 years with Hewlett-Packard, holding major account computer sales and sales management positions of increasing responsibilities in the United States and abroad. As a Country Manager in HP's European operation, he tripled revenue growth for four years in a row, and ranked first in growth and profitability among more than 20 country operations within HP.
A former staff officer in the Special Operations Command/Europe and later a reservist for the Defense Attach¬ Office in Vienna, Terry was awarded a Defense Department Meritorious Service Medal and Presidential Citation, respectively, for exceptionally meritorious service. He earned undergraduate degrees in mathematics and computer science, followed by an MBA.
