iRise for Entrepreneurs Program Empowers Emerging Companies with Software Simulation

Companies use visual prototypes to raise funding, get to market fast

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Feb. 12, 2007 – iRise®, the world's leading application definition software company, today announced iRise for Entrepreneurs, a new program to provide start-up and emerging companies with access to iRise's award-winning software and resources. Already deployed at more than 100 companies, many of them Fortune 1000®, iRise's state-of-the-art simulation software can also benefit entrepreneurs by giving them the ability to graphically and rapidly visualize new product ideas and services. iRise's software is focused on defining the right application before any code is written, and this feature is even more critical for new and emerging software companies who typically get just one shot to "get it right" and enter the market with an innovative software application.

"For companies interested in gaining a competitive edge or quickly capitalizing on a new market opportunity, iRise is invaluable," said Jack Blount, a serial entrepreneur, and chief executive officer and founder of Alpha Bay Corporation, a retail systems software and services provider that delivers 21st century technology solutions to multi-channel retailers. "iRise's software was easy enough to use that the other founders and I were able to get up and running on it in a matter of days. We rapidly developed a lifelike visualization of multi-channel retail services, enabling us to more readily provide our solution to the marketplace. Additionally, by handing our development team a clear blueprint of what to build, we shaved significant time off the development cycle. I highly recommend that other software companies use iRise in their development process."

How it works
Under the terms of the Entrepreneurs program, iRise will provide a free 90-day trial of its rapid prototyping and simulation software to a qualified start-up or emerging software company with the goal of accelerating a company's next funding event. At the end of the trial period, the company has the option to purchase the iRise software and use it as their on-going product management platform.

iRise offers these benefits to participating companies:

  • Test Drive Concepts – Develop and test new product ideas in a highly visual and interactive way, before doing any coding which saves money by delivering a well-tested product and by compressing development cycles
  • Demonstrate Ideas Quickly – Explore different iterations and validate alternative approaches, concepts and user interfaces with potential users and partners, and with venture capitalists
  • Solicit Better Feedback – Gather more targeted and valuable feedback which can be incorporated more quickly back into the final product
  • Visualize Development – Create a clear and unambiguous visual blueprint for programmers and/or offshoring development partners
  • Accelerate Innovation – Speed time-to-market by building what was actually envisioned

"Emerging companies get one opportunity to come out of the gate strong and make a powerful impression on the market and potential investors," said Maurice Martin, president, chief operating officer and founder of iRise. "The revolution is just beginning, as more and more companies realize that it just makes sense to simulate before an ounce of coding takes place. In the same way that every airplane and car is simulated before it's built today, we're offering all businesses the ability to simulate and perfect their application before building it."

In addition to Alpha Bay, more than 20 companies have participated in the iRise for Entrepreneurs program including: Quality Tip, a consumer portal for healthcare information sharing and comparison; Parsifal Ventures, a mobile phone/Web-based personal concierge service; PromoterForce Inc., a referral marketing program for businesses and customers; and, Solartis, an insurance software company.
