iRise Enhances Collaboration, Security with Latest Release
iRise 6.5 adds comments management, security capabilities to speed review, approval process for application simulations
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Jan. 14, 2008 – iRise®, the worlds leading application visualization software company, today announced the immediate availability of iRise 6.5, which includes: a new comments management module, enhanced security, 64-bit server support and usability enhancements. Collectively, these enhancements ensure that critical feedback from stakeholders on application development projects is swiftly understood and acted upon in a secure, collaborative corporate environment that is often distributed globally.
Key features in iRise 6.5 include:
- Comments management iRise already gives stakeholders the ability to annotate simulations with feedback notes. With iRise 6.5 this capability is enhanced to give application simulation authors a "Comments Panel" in iRise Studio and iRise Reader where they can sort and filter comments, color code them, etc.
- Security iRise 6.5 now contains support for:
- LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)-based authentication The iRise Definition Center server now supports user authentication via LDAP so user name and passwords entered during login can be validated against a centralized, corporate LDAP server (i.e. iRise can now take advantage of existing security policies established on an LDAP server);
- iDoc Password Protection When an application simulation created in iRise Studio is exported to an iDoc, the author may now set a password that must be entered in order for the iDoc to be opened and viewed. This is useful when simulations that document new applications, particularly those providing a competitive advantage, need to be protected during the definition process;
- Scalability The 64-bit version of iRise Definition Center gives customers the ability to simulate more, larger, projects simultaneously; and,
- Usability Enhancements Numerous usability enhancements were made.
"iRise 6.5 breaks new ground for organizations that rely on secure collaboration amongst stakeholders to quickly design the latest software applications," said Dave Shackleton, chief design expert for iRise. "This is especially true of companies that outsource development or have geographically dispersed teams of stakeholders. iRise is still the clear choice for getting complex applications defined faster, with lower risk of failure."
Availability
iRise 6.5 is available immediately. Existing customers with a 32-bit Definition Center under valid maintenance contracts will be able to upgrade to the 64-bit version of Definition Center for no additional fees. For details on installation, contact Customer Support at (866) 361-3900.
