Background
In 1995, this customer produced blockbuster films that delivered $6.8 billion in sales. To manage box office sales, invoicing and theatre bookings, the customer relies upon its international film distribution system.

Challenge
Prior to the international film distribution system, each of the 23 international regions that receive the customer's movies used its own distribution system, many of which were based on outdated mainframe technology. The customer needed to consolidate the systems into a central, branded Web application, but text-based requirements documents were inadequate to elicit regionally unique needs from the globally dispersed stakeholders. The customer had to find a way to avoid potential data transmission issues while satisfying international user needs.

Result
The design team used iRise to simulate more than 150 pages of the international film distribution system with a visually rich user interface, complete functionality and all the graphics and branding the customer needed to leverage their image worldwide. Stakeholders found the simulation particularly valuable because changes were made collaboratively, on-the-fly during review sessions, which dramatically accelerated the requirements approval process.

Because iRise's central repository allows access to a common simulation, the customer's VP of Finance, VP of Sales and stakeholders in Latin America and Europe were able to actively participate in review sessions and provide valuable feedback to the simulation. Once skeptical business owners in Latin America and Europe signed off on the specification after a one-week review, significantly reducing requirements cycle time.
