iRise Fusion ‘07-Deploying simulation. Advice from real world experience at Comerica Bank
Posted by David Spark, Consultant on October 11th, 2007

Dora Baltrusaitis and Kirk Tsai of Comerica Bank walked through a case study of how their business transformed internally and externally with the deployment of iRise software simulation. The deployment improved communications at all levels. Better communications at Comerica Bank translated into:

  • Improved speed-to-market by shortening definition and design phases by 30% or two months.
  • Reduced rework from functional defects by 80%.
  • Built trust and confidence with the client.
  • Clients more confident signing off on simulations rather than text-based requirements.
  • Improved working relationship with internal team.
  • Able to redesign potential technical changes before they were developed.
  • Identified approximately 250 changes prior to coding.
  • Prevented the development of unnecessary pages.

For those companies about to deploy iRise and change processes for visualized software simulation, Kirk Tsai recommends:

  • Have business analysts and information architects work closely and concurrently on definition and design.
  • Involve information architects early on to integrate usability into design.
  • Include cross functional team members in requirement sessions.
  • Engage core team and extended client SMEs throughout the process.
  • Conduct regular checkpoint reviews executive stakeholders. Don’t want any surprises and regular reviews build support.
  • Tailor review and approval process based on target audience.
